Prepare to build community and make life-long friends while exploring yogic philosophy, asana, pranayama, meditation, anatomy, and so much more! Meet Indigo Yoga Class of 2020-2021 graduate Jenny Caffrey to get a taste of Indigo’s all encompassing Registered Yoga School (RYS).

Hello!  I am Jenny Caffrey.  I am a 44-year old single mother to a beautifully spirited daughter and two equally spirited blue heelers.  I was born in Ohio but moved several times growing up, first to Seattle area, then Indiana, Michigan and now I am back in Ohio living just a mile from where I grew up.

I found yoga in 2005 while I was working in a toxic environment.  I didn’t know how the stress was affecting me until I was able to let it go while on my mat. I struggled to find a studio that felt like home when I moved back to Ohio in 2011.  Then I found Indigo, and after my first class I knew I found my place, my community.

I work in an executive leadership position for a software company as their VP of Sales and Marketing.  Before 2020, my role kept me on the road, meeting with clients and prospects.  Since 2020,  you will find me behind a computer, moving from one virtual meeting to the next.

The idea of yoga teacher training always interested me, but I was unable to make time.  I was recently single and had a new baby, along with a job that kept me on the road during the week.  When the pandemic happened, my job transitioned to virtual.  I found myself spending less time on the road and more time at home, allowing me to finally start a yoga teacher training.

I began Indigo’s 200- Hour teacher training program hoping to deepen my practice and learn more about the different yoga traditions and philosophies.  I attended the teacher training open house to learn more about the curriculum and expectations for the program.  I started my 200-hour teacher training journey in September, 2020. Mid-way through the program I decided I wanted to share this practice with others.  After only the first weekend, I started to find myself.

Indigo’s Teacher Training Program helped me:

o Deepen my practice

o Learn yoga philosophies

o Have the confidence to lead yoga classes

o Find myself

Jenny is now fully committed to the Indigo community as both a student and an instructor. She shares her love of yoga with others by teaching weekly classes at Indigo.

Jenny continues to follow her thirst for knowledge as she now is a student in Indigo’s 300-Hour Teacher Training program. Upon completion of the training, she will achieve her 500-Hour Yoga Alliance Certification.

Jenny has chosen to focus on trauma yoga, yoga therapy and somatic energy healing in this advanced level certification.  If you ask her what her biggest takeaway from the Indigo Yoga’s Teacher Training program is,  she will answer:

“All my life I hid my true self behind a version that I thought the world wanted to see.  Indigo’s teacher training program taught me to not only be my authentic self, but how to find it and to embrace it.”
