Sam Spychalla

Sam is a bhakti (devotional) yogi, with most of her offerings leaning into subtle practices. She offers less external movement, more internal (heart space) activation. She weaves together breathwork, meditation, mindfulness, and self-care with an approach that is creative and gentle. She holds a container of
calm for her students to experience, combining yogic philosophy, imaginative experiences and the desire to remember our innate connection to one another.

Her teaching practices use the body as an instrument to discover deep devotion to the present moment and access hidden intuitive wisdom and truth. An agitated mind finds temperance, a tense body finds release, our forgotten Oneness is remembered. More than anything, she is a lover of simply breathing. She is on a mission to bring awareness to the delicious, but frequently overlooked, quality of being alive– the breath. Sam believes that if you fall in love with the breath, every moment of your life will be spent with your
beloved. Hold awareness of the breath as a gift and immediately every moment is filled with abundance.

Based out of Dayton, Ohio, Sam is the creator of MATMoTIVES [1], vinyl yoga mat decals that serve as an intentional reminder and a dristi for your yoga practice. She is the co-founder of Rebel Goddess Reclamation; events and gatherings to empower and uplift all humans through the celebration of the Divine Feminine. She is a mother, a teacher, a drum maker, and a human expression of the infinite.

Sam is 200 RYT certified through Indigo Yoga, 300 RYT through Danielle Dulsky’s Living Mandala (twice!) with additional certifications in pranayama and meditation.
