Lisa Otto

Lisa found yoga many years ago when she was dealing with chronic pain from fibromyalgia. Through her practice, she not only became free from pain, but she also learned to listen to the language of her body. Here is where she fell in love with the practice and needed to dig deeper. She had a lot of physical, emotional and relationship trauma to heal from and she came to realize that yoga was the path meant for her.

Lisa grew up dancing, and even minored in dance at Ohio University, so yoga felt like home to her immediately. She completed her 500 hour teacher training at Indigo and her intuition was right! Digging deeper into this ancient spiritual and physical practice has given Lisa the tools to heal from anything life throws at her. It has given her a supportive, loving community that she is eternally grateful for. She is eager to continue to share her practice with this amazing community. We are warriors of light.

Professionally, Lisa is a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) in the state of Ohio. She works as a school therapist in Mad River Local Schools, where she not only provides clinical therapy to kids, but also teaches them meditation, yoga, breath work, emotional freedom tapping, how to have a growth mindset and more. She also offers her practice to her coworkers, because the stress levels are super high in school staff.

Lisa feels Yoga has made her a much more effective therapist. With yoga, you can release emotional trauma that is trapped in your body without reliving the trauma. This is life changing for so many. Her specialty is kids on the spectrum and kids who are labeled as “emotionally disordered”. The tough kids who are nonverbal or just considered “bad”. Lisa is able to connect with them at a deeper level once they feel the benefits of yoga, meditation and breath work. It’s truly amazing and Lisa feels grateful to be a part of it.
