The Strength & Space Masterclass Series is a five part journey into the anatomical and energetic foundations of yoga. Each 90minute masterclass explores a different category of asana, extensions, laterals, twists, backbends, and arm balances, through a lens of mindful movement, functional anatomy, and the subtle body.

In each session, you’ll take a deep dive into 2–4 key postures, learning how to build them from the inside out: how joints align, which muscles support the pose, and how breath and intention guide the energetic pathways. Whether you’re looking to expand your physical capacity, refine your awareness, or deepen your personal practice, this series offers both structure and spaciousness for your evolution on the mat.

1. Expand Your Range

Extensions Masterclass – Saturday, November 14 from 2:00 -3:30 pm

Extensions ask us to lengthen, lift, and create space along the central axis of the body. In this masterclass, we’ll explore how to intelligently open through the spine, legs, and side bodies while maintaining stability and integrity.

You’ll learn how muscular engagement and directional energy work together to produce a sense of upward expansion without compression. We’ll break down 2–4 foundational extension postures, such as Uttanasana (Forward Fold), Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward-Facing Dog), and Tadasana variations—focusing on spinal decompression, hamstring glide, and core support.

2. Unlock the Lateral Line

Laterals Masterclass – Saturday, November 14 from 3:45 – 5:15 pm

Side-body work creates spaciousness in the ribs, improves breathing mechanics, and enhances mobility through the shoulders, pelvis, and spine. This masterclass reveals the architecture of the lateral lines—from the IT band to the obliques to the intercostal muscles—and how to move them with intention.

We’ll deconstruct 2–4 key lateral postures, such as Parighasana (Gate Pose), Utthita Parsvakonasana(Extended Side Angle), and lateral standing variations, to explore length, stability, and breathbased expansion.

Twists Masterclass – Sunday, November 15  from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm

Twisting postures provide clarity, mobility, and detoxification—not by forcing rotation, but by sequencing it skillfully from the ground up. This masterclass highlights how healthy twists originate from the relationship between pelvis, spine, and breath, and how muscular engagement supports safe rotation.

We’ll examine 2–4 twist-focused postures, such as Parivrtta Sukhasana (Revolved Cross-Legged Pose), Anjaneyasana (Revolved Lunge), and reclining twist variations breaking down where rotation should and should not occur, and how to harness the energetic quality of release and renewal.

What you’ll gain:

• Clarity on the biomechanics of safe rotation

4. Backbend Blueprint

Backbends Masterclass – Sunday, November 15 from 1:15 – 2:45 pm

Backbends invite us to open the front body while strengthening the entire posterior chain. This masterclass offers a clear anatomical roadmap for spinal extension, how to stabilize, how to lift, and how to distribute the arc of the backbend evenly.

We’ll dissect 2–4 backbending postures, such as Bhujangasana (Cobra), Ustrasana (Camel), or Setu Bandhasana (Bridge), with emphasis on shoulder positioning, core support, and the balance between contraction and expansion. Energetically, we’ll explore how backbends cultivate courage, uplift, and emotional spaciousness.

5. Take Flight

Arm Balances Masterclass – Sunday, November 15 from 3:00 – 4:30 pm

Arm balances blend strength, mobility, and mental focus. This masterclass demystifies the mechanics of balance: how to recruit the core, stabilize the shoulders, engage through the hands, and skillfully shift your center of gravity.

We’ll break down 2–4 accessible arm balances, such as Bakasana (Crow), Pincha Mayurasana(Forearm Stand), or Adho Mukha Vrksasana (Handstand) offering progressive variations and alignment details that help you approach flight with confidence and curiosity. Energetically, we’ll explore themes of trust, grounding, and lightness.
