Wings of the Heart: Shoulder Anatomy Workshop for Yoga and Life

Sunday, August 3 from 11:30 -2:30 pm with Randy Boyd ERYT 500 YACEP and IAYT Certified Yoga Therapist.  You may livestream this offering in-studio with community or livestream from home.  Randy’s offerings are offered in-studio on Zoom on a large flat screen monitor so that we may join together as community and learn together.

Yoga is the practice of following your heart. In the physical body the shoulders open the heart, the front of the chest when we feel safe and close the heart when we feel do not feel safe. The shoulder joint is designed for flexibility. Without the proper balance of strength and alignment this can lead to injury. In our yoga practice and in life we need to learn how to balance strength and flexibility to align our shoulders, to stay safe. When we feel safe the heart naturally opens and we come into our full expression. Learn the anatomy of the shoulders and the key alignment instructions that make your shoulders stronger, and allow for a healthier range of motion so that you can come into a fuller expression of your yoga poses while remaining safe. This session will include lecture, power point, asana practice and discussion.
