Friday, January 31/ 5:30 – 7:30pm and Saturday, February 1 / 2:15 – 3:45 pm (3.5 hours of total content over two sessions)

If yes, or if you simply have a thirst for knowledge, join Kim in a walk through the fundamentals of approaching your yoga practice from a functional perspective. In this workshop, we will review the following topics through a bit of conversation and a bunch of experimentation:

  1. Application of the planes of movement to our movement patterns and to the various categories of yoga postures
  2. Muscular activation
  3. The function and intent of postures and how multiple focuses or intents may exist for the same posture
  4. Symmetrical and asymmetrical postures
  5. Impact of postures on the organs and energetics
  6. Stability versus flexibility
  7. Dynamic versus static

This content is appropriate for individuals interested in deepening their yoga practice, aspiring yoga teachers, and current yoga teachers. CEUs are available by participating in this workshop.
