Guided Meditation for Weight Loss Series – A 10 Week Journey of Un-Learning

Are you ready to embrace a lifestyle change that results in weight loss?  Before lasting long-term weight-loss occurs, you must first learn to care for yourself and this begins with your mind and thought process.

True self-care exists through un-learning what society has taught you and retraining your mind.  You must re-wire your stream of thoughts that have harmed your self-esteem, self-confidence and body image. When eating becomes a self-care practice instead of a reason for guilt, you’ll make healthful food choices.  You will heed your body’s natural cues about how much is enough and you will mitigate emotional eating and yo-yo dieting. When you are nourished and fulfilled mentally, like a plant, you will grow and thrive.

Keeping weight off doesn’t mean eating less.  During this 10 week series that is accessible for all levels, ages, and abilities, including those new to Yoga, you will experience gentle movement, breath-work and guided meditation to help you reduce stress and tune into what your body truly needs.  Through mindfulness, you will transform your relationship with food and keep weight off.

This series class will meet once a week on Mondays beginning January 20 from 7-8:15 pm. Please note that there will be no class on Monday, February 24. Class will begin with a brief discussion followed by gentle movement to allow you to ease into a comfortable resting position.  Next we will utilize Yoga Nidra, an ancient but little-known yogic practice that’s becoming increasingly popular as both a form of meditation and a mind-body therapy. As a guided meditation practice, it can create a profound sense of joy and well-being.  It’s also known as “yogic sleep” or “effortless relaxation”.  You will spend the last half of the class relaxing in this guided meditation to shift your perspective and re-wire your mind.

In this Guided Meditation for Weight Loss Series, you will un-learn what you have previously believed and intuitively make wise choices for your optimum health. This 10 week series will nourish your mind, body and spirit and change the way you approach food for a lifetime to come.  Space is limited. This series will be held both in-studio and live-streamed using Zoom.  If you are absent, the class will be emailed to you.  Every week, you will have unlimited access to the class recordings so that you may listen multiple times for better results.  You may choose to join in-studio or at home or another location.
