Kim Korson

A lifelong (and driven) athlete, Kim discovered the transformative power of yoga shortly after her husband died in early 2008 and returned to practice later as a means of coping with an unhealthy second marriage. The second marriage ended, and in the process, yoga became an integral part of her daily life. Kim believes that the beauty of yoga lies in its invitation for us to tune into our bodies, minds and emotions. And that the true power of the practice is exemplified in our daily lives, not on our mats.

Kim’s passion for the practice led her to complete a 200-hour teacher training course and acquire the RYT 200 certification through the Yoga Alliance in 2017. During 2020 and 2021 she completed a 300-hour teacher training to earn the RYT 500 certification through the Yoga Alliance in 2021. Since that time her thirst for the practice has led Kim to study with several teachers including Judith Hanson Lasater, Bernie Clark, Kristin Luna Ray, Becky Morrisey, Mary Richards, Michael Johnson, Francisco Kaiut, and Linda Oshins. She has also become a self-proclaimed anatomy nerd!

On the mat, she found that if nothing else landed, her default intention was always “playful focus” – a reminder to practice with purpose, to be intentional in thought and movement, and to have fun. Kim believes that functional and fun movement, filled with attention and intention, is the key to a healthy body and mind.

Off the mat, Kim works as an operations coach in the financial industry. She is a perpetual learner, enjoys spending time with friends and family, hiking, gardening, cooking and traveling.
