Amy Fecher E-RYT500, YACEP
Yoga has been Amy’s passion since she began her journey in 2001. As a Certified Fitness Trainer, Amy has spent many years helping others to increase vitality by managing weight, gaining strength, recovering from injury and finding balance and an overall sense of well-being in their day-to-day lives.
Amy began her yoga teaching career first by adding yoga inspired exercises into the workout regime of her private personal training clients. She saw the benefits in their lives and bodies and was motivated to learn more. Since her first YogaFit certification, she has been teaching yoga from her home studio as well as in studios and clubs throughout the Dayton area. She teaches outreach yoga to children as well as corporate yoga classes and she has trained Wright State’s golf, basketball and baseball teams primarily through yoga for several years.
In 2010, after years of self-study, practice, teaching and attending numerous workshops and trainings, Amy completed her 200 hour RYT certification with Sianna Sherman at Shine Yoga Center in Cincinnati. She has continued to study in various forms of yoga with master teachers such as Jason Crandell, Noah Maze, Kino McGregor, Osha Hanfling, Rocky Herron, Richard Freeman, Maty Ezrati, Erich Schiffman, Doug Keller, Amy Ippoliti, Cyndi Lee, Kathryn Budig, Phillip Urso and Felix Lopez, among many.
Amy completed her 500-Hour RYT certification at Yoga on High in Columbus, Ohio. This advanced certification included extensive work in anatomy and yoga therapy, including yoga for specific populations and conditions. She has reached and maintained the number of hours necessary to achieve the status of an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher, as well as a YACEP certification which qualifies her to train Yoga teachers to teach Yoga. Amy is also a certified Reiki practitioner and often incorporates Reiki into her public classes and private sessions. She maintains a dedicated personal practice from which she draws inspiration and energy, which are evident in all of her classes.
Amy continues to inspire students on a daily basis with her dynamic and highly creative instruction. The hallmark of her teaching is a sense of challenge balanced with the support and nurturing needed to enliven, uplift and promote personal growth and a positive shift of perspective. Amy’s goal is to help students to take their yoga practice beyond the mat to embrace personal transformation one breath at a time.
