Elizabeth Matchefts
Elizabeth describes herself as a lifelong student first and a teacher second. Her journey with yoga began at a young age through Wai Lana Yoga on PBS, planting seeds that would grow over time. Returning to yoga at various points in her life, she found her way to a consistent yoga practice in 2021 after a vacation in Hawaii, where she experienced peace in morning practices on the beach. This experience reignited her passion for yoga and its ability to foster inner wisdom, growth, and community – Elizabeth’s leading values.
After the encouragement of a mentor, Elizabeth completed her 200-hour Yoga Alliance certification in 2023. Her time in teacher training fed her desire to continue learning and seeking knowledge and growth through her yoga practice. Elizabeth received her 300-hour certification at Indigo Yoga. Her practice and her teaching continue to evolve with her, driven by curiosity and a desire for growth.
As a teacher, Elizabeth brings an open, methodical, and welcoming energy to her classes. She desires to share her personal practice with her students in a way that is both challenging and approachable.
Outside the studio, Elizabeth leads a multifaceted life as a full-time engineering business operations manager and a part-time student. A passionate reader, she’s often found at one of the local coffee shops with a book in hand or immersed in her studies. Elizabeth desires to bring the discipline, curiosity, and mindfulness she has gained through yoga to her daily life.
